As for Dilbert's show career, he achieved his Grand Champion status quite quickly and was Best in Show in 1999, and 2000, at the Oriental Tabby Cat Club Show.

GRAND CHAMPION THURAH
DILBERT
BLACK SILVER SPOTTED

Dilbert is a very handsome black, silver spotted oriental boy. He was bred by Jane Thurah Nielsen of the Thurah Cattery in Denmark and arrived in this country on 8th October, 1998. As he was imported under the Balai directive, he did not have to 'serve his time' in quarantine and was able to come straight here and into his new luxury quarters. He is the first cat that I have imported, and whilst we had a certain amount of difficulty in co-ordinating the various people needed to ensure his smooth passage, we have learned much from the experience and I would certainly not have any worries about importing another cat. The most nerve wracking moment came when we were waiting to see whether or not the scanner we had borrowed from the RSPCA, kindly wielded by a very patient inspector, would actually read Dilbert's microchip.

We had only discovered two days before his scheduled arrival that we had to
provide the scanner, not only that, but there are three types of microchip and not all scanners read all chips!!

Fortunately the scanner worked ok and as soon as the result of Dilbert's blood test for rabies antibodies arrived back from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, he was able to mix with my cats and start to learn English cat language!!!

Dilbert is eighteen months old and a very big boy. He is very gentle and has the most loving temperament. He is completely different from my stud boy who died last year in that he likes to take his time, 'chat up' his ladies and then mate them.

My dear old boy was the complete opposite, he had no time for such niceties, just wanted to get on with the job!!!!
